About The Project
The AI-Based Investor Risk Assessment Portal is a pioneering initiative designed to democratize access to investment risk analysis by offering a data-driven, cost-effective solution—especially for individual investors, SMEs, creditors, and researchers. Traditional investment assessments often require consultants and costly data sources, posing challenges for small players and individual investors.
The project funded by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, introduces a research-driven economic risk evaluation modelthat leverages firm-level data (from the State Bank of Pakistan) and macroeconomic indicators (from sources like the World Bank). Using advanced econometric techniques (e.g., GMM) and machine learning , the model predicts investment risk and company financial health with high reliability.
Key features of the platform include:

About the Founder and Chief Investigator
Professor Dr. Afaq Kazi is a seasoned corporate professional, academician, and applied researcher, currently serving as a Professor and Consultant at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM). With extensive experience in both industry and academia, Dr. Kazi is dedicated to applied research that solves real-world problems in business, industry, and society. He focuses on enhancing SME productivity, promoting youth employability, improving labor efficiency, and steering research toward national development goals. A strong advocate for bridging the gap between academia and industry, Dr. Kazi mentors and coaches researchers to pursue work that delivers tangible impact, beyond theoretical contributions.
As the visionary behind this project, Dr. Kazi secured funding through the HEC NRPU Research Grant, built and led a multidisciplinary team, and successfully delivered a fully operational digital solution. His leadership has been central to transforming complex research into an accessible platform that supports inclusive, informed financial decision-making.
